Safety Guidelines
Non-negotiable principles for group facilitation.
Facilitator Responsibilities
- Participation is voluntary. No one should feel pressured to share.
- Avoid trauma details in public settings. Keep sharing functional, not biographical.
- Always offer clear 'pause / step out / get support' options.
- This is not therapy. Do not position yourself as a therapist.
- If someone appears distressed, pause the exercise and check in privately.
Do Not
- Force anyone to participate in exercises
- Ask participants to share trauma stories publicly
- Promise therapeutic outcomes
- Continue if someone shows signs of distress
